Went to the parade in Apple Valley. Everyone seemed to have a good time, but the parade was longer than we expected because it included people from other towns in the area. Ally liked the princesses, JJ liked the trucks, horses, clowns, and the guys that drove the go-carts like crazy. We ran into an old college friend of Angela's, which was pretty neat and unexpected. We hung out the rest of the day just relaxing, then went to fireworks at the nearby park. The kids played for a little while and then enjoyed the fireworks.
"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence evey July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism." ~ Erma Bombeck
Thank you to those who have, and those that still do, work and fight to protect our freedom. They are the reason we celebrate.
